Hi Robert, welcome to planDisney!
I'm so glad to hEAR you've secured theme park reservations for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. This important step lets Mickey and the rest of the
Fab 50 characters know when and where you'll be celebrating Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary. Theme park reservations are also required to book return windows using the DAS Advance planning option. Let's break this down a bit.
Disability Access Service (DAS) is just one of the many systems and processes Walt Disney World has in place to ensure Disney magic is accessible to all. DAS assists Guests who find extended wait times in traditional queue settings challenging due to a disability. There are two ways to register for DAS: 2-30 days in advance of your trip via video chat or in-person at
Guest Relations or an in-park Guest Experience Team podium, which is marked by a blue umbrella.
It sounds like your daughter might be interested in registering her child for DAS via video chat before your trip, which would allow her to book one-hour arrival windows for up to two attractions per park day. As part of the registration process, your daughter will be asked to log into her My Disney Experience account. Theme park reservations do not come with confirmation numbers like tickets and dining reservations, but rest assured the Cast Member she connects with will have eyes on all theme park reservations connected to her account. If you'd like to confirm that the theme park reservations were made, scroll down to the desired date of your "Daily Itinerary" on the
My Plans page of your My Disney Experience account and look for the calendar icon with a check mark inside. Make sure that each person in your party over the age of three has a theme park reservation for each park day.
Since you were able to make theme park reservations for your party, Robert, it sounds like you're already connected as
Family and Friends in My Disney Experience. This is important because DAS return times can be made for the registered Guest plus up to five additional party members. For planning purposes, a complete list of attractions available for DAS bookings can be found
here.
When registering for DAS via live video chat, which is available 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. each day, expect an extended wait. The Guest requesting to use DAS must be present on the call, which can make this a challenge for families. If advance registration is not feasible before your trip, in-person registration is another valid option.
I encourage you and your daughter to watch the two-and-a-half-minute video found at the top of the
DAS page to familiarize yourself with the entire DAS process and offerings. I find the
My Disney Experience mobile app visuals to be particularly helpful.
It warms my heart to see the teamwork that's already gone into planning your Walt Disney World vacation, Robert. It's an honor to be a small part of that team and
I'd love to help answer any other questions as that finish line draws near.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
