Hi Richard! Welcome to planDisney! So glad you thought to swing by with your question!
Ah,
Theme Park Reservations with Disney Park Pass, I for one really enjoy the extra granularity it allows you to give your plans! If planning a trip to
Walt Disney World Resort is a game of chess, purchasing your theme park tickets and making your Park Pass Reservation is like setting-up the pieces - you've got to make sure you do it right!
As far as why your kids may not be showing up on the
My Disney Experience app, I have one question for you: are your kids by any chance under the age of three? If so, that could be why they aren't showing up! I know this because the first time I made a reservation for my son's first trip, I was worried when his information didn't show up - but he didn't need a reservation or admission!
If they are older than three, and you are still unable to get their profiles to show up in your app, I have three planDrew-approved steps to take to see if you can shake something loose:
- First, whenever I have issues with any of the Disney apps, I check to make sure I have the latest version installed. It seems simple, but on more than one occasion I've been at least a version behind which led to all kinds of issues!
- Next, double-check that you are the one that created your kids' profiles in the Family & Friends section of My Disney Experience! The person who creates a child's profile will manage the profile and all the plans for that child - and kids' profiles can't be transferred to another person to manage. A quick way to check for this would be to have your wife check her My Disney Experience app as well.
- Last, I'd check to make sure that your kids are still connected to you as listed in your Family & Friends list still! If your kids are anything like mine, two minutes with a phone and I could have passwords changed, apps deleted or reinstalled, and myriad other "how'd they do that?" happenings. So, while it may seem far-fetched, it's always worth a check - even if it was done by accident!
If you still find yourself as a "missing parent," I'd do what I always do when I've run out of options and call a Cast Member for assistance. They are always great at helping me get to the bottom of thorny issues, especially when it comes to something as important as your park reservation! Bonus tip: I always like to call about 3 minutes after the lines open in the morning. Maybe I'm superstitious, but I seem to have the best luck getting through in the shortest amount of time!
I hope that helps point you in the direction of your dreams, Richard! I have every confidence that you'll get this issue resolved with plenty of time before your trip! Thank you again for your question, and if any others arise as you finalize your plans, please drop us another line here at planDisney!
OFF TO NEVERLAND!
