I have made several dining reservations for our May 2014 trip. Will our reservations be affected if we modify/reduce the number in our party in the coming months? I am not sure if all 8 individuals at each meal yet.

    Hi Vanessa,

You are wise to plan ahead for dining with a large party, even if you aren't sure that everyone will want to eat together at every meal. It's always easier to reduce the size of a reservation than to increase it.

The best way to modify a dining reservation without cancelling it and starting over is to call Disney Dining at 407-WDW-DiNE (407-939-3463). The cast members there can adjust the number in your party for you. Again, they can always lower the number but often can't increase it.

The table service restaurants and dinner shows now require a credit-card guarantee or, in a few cases, pre-payment. If you need to modify your reservations, I recommend that you do so at least two days in advance to avoid any no-show charges.

I hope that helps. Deciding where to dine at Disney is always one of my favorite planning activities. Enjoy!
