We made reservations to visit WDW over the 4th of July 2012. Can you tell me of any special events, fireworks, ect. that are planned for Independence Day?

Independence Day at Walt Disney World is quite a day. This is likely one of the busiest days of the year at the Magic Kingdom because of the spectacular fireworks show to commemorate the celebration of American freedom. It's all very patriotic. While the exact events have not been posted yet and are is subject to change without notice, the Magic Kingdom has fantastic the "Celebrate America Fireworks" at 9 p.m.  Keep in mind that when the parks reach capacity they will not allow any more guests to enter. I would just sit back and take the day at a relaxed pace. I would also try to secure a good viewing location as soon as possible to have an unobstructed view of the amazing fireworks show for this great day.
