We have made our reservations for our upcoming trip, however we have a 2 year old with us for his first trip. Although he doesn’t require a ticket, do we need to make a reservation for him in advance?

    Hello Jennifer!

Welcome to planDisney. I’m delighted to hear you’re planning a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth with your little prince. How fun it will be that it’s his first time at the Disneyland Resort. There is something truly magical about experiencing Disney Parks through your child’s eyes. I still remember my children’s first time waving to Mickey Mouse in person or riding Dumbo the Flying Elephant. They’re young adults now but I still can vividly recall these precious memories as though they happened yesterday.

Because children under 3 years of age do not need theme park tickets for entry to visit Mickey Mouse and his Pals, theme park reservations will also not be needed. So Hakuna Matata, Jennifer. It means “no worries” as you continue to plan your upcoming trip. On the other hand, if you’re making a dining reservation, I would include him to the party size so that the Cast Member hosts at the table service restaurant will set aside a large enough table to accommodate your group.

I hope this helps, Jennifer. As you continue to plan your upcoming trip, please don’t hesitate to write us again.

    Have a magical day,
    Kiki

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
