Hi Barbara,
Welcome to planDisney!
I am delighted to see you adding your father-in-law to the trip. Now we have to get him linked in your
My Disney Experience account! Generally, you should be able to go to your
Family & Friends List in My Disney Experience and click on Add a Guest. If your father-in-law has his own My Disney Experience account, you will need to send him an invitation to connect by selecting "I'll enter their name and age," entering the information, and then sending an email to the email address that he uses with his My Disney Experience account. If he does not have his own My Disney Experience account, instead of sending him an email to connect, you would select the option to "manage all plans for this Guest." I will note that these precise steps may change if there are updates to My Disney Experience.
To rent an
electric conveyance vehicle (ECV), you can rent one each day at the theme parks or you can use the Disney Featured Provider, Scooterbug. You may also use another third-party vendor. When we have rented in the parks, the process has been fairly easy. I will recommend that you arrive early since ECVs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Also consider the size of your resort and distance from your resort room to the main building. If your father-in-law will need an ECV at the resort, then you would need a length of stay rental and should rent from the Disney Featured Provider or another vendor.
Barbara, if you are still unable to add your father-in-law in My Disney Experience,
contact a Cast Member in Website Support by phone. They have always been able to help me resolve issues. Once you get him added, be sure to make
Disney Park Pass system reservations for him.
Happy planning!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
