    We have a 1,3, and 7 y/o. Made reservations to eat at downtown disney and didn't realize it wasn't in the Magic Kingdom. Any suggestions for this age group. We also only have two weeks until we go, so things are pretty booked up.

    Hi Rick!

    If you are looking for restaurant suggestions in Downtown Disney, my favorites are Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex Cafe, which are both Landry's restaurants.  

    Rainforest Cafe has been a big hit with my family, especially my 3 year old ever since he was a baby.  The atmosphere is energetic and loud with a "rain shower" every 15 minutes.  The restaurant is decorated with elephants and apes that are animatronic and really catch the attention of my kids.  

    My son has become a huge fan of Dinosaurs, so we have found ourselves dining at T-Rex Cafe lately.  It's the same concept as Rainforest cafe and they even have a "meteor shower" every 15 minutes.  There is an Ice Age room with woolly mammoths and a lava volcano room with dinosaurs.  Your kids can even explore for fossils in the sand dig out front.  

    You can usually get into either of these restaurants as a walk-up, you just might have to wait a little bit.  I have also had better luck calling them directly if they show booked up through Disney.  T-Rex Cafe - (407) 828-TREX Rainforest Cafe - (407) 827-8500

    There's a lot going on at Downtown Disney beside eating.  The shops are a Disney lover's dream!  There are dancing water fountains that your kids can run around in, a little train ride, a 365 days a year Christmas shop, and often live entertainment on the stage across from the World of Disney Store.
