We have made reservations for Akershus Royal Banquet Hall on my daughter's 18th birthday. We noted that it was her birthday when we made the reservation. Do they normally do something special for a birthday like Crystal Palace does?

My own Disney-loving daughter recently celebrated her eighteenth birthday as well, Dee.  I love that you've chosen a princess meal to mark the occasion!  Here's the scoop on birthdays at WDW: while most restaurants will observe the occasion somehow, there are no guarantees.  Having celebrated numerous milestones at Disney over the years, I've seen a variety of ways that Cast Members have helped us to celebrate.  In some cases we've been presented with certificates while in others we've been sprinkled with pixie dust (confetti).  We've been given treats with candles in them, too.  By having the celebration noted on your reservation, you've done the right thing.  I hope that the Cast Members take your celebration and run with it, making it a most memorable meal for your birthday girl.  Enjoy!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
