Hiya, Alfredo, and welcome to planDisney! That actually sounds like a wonderful plan—your son and his friend getting a special dinner on their own while you and your husband enjoy a stroll around
Disneyland Park is such a fun way for everyone to make a few memories at the same time.
You’ll be happy to know that
River Belle Terrace is absolutely a great choice for this. Since you—an adult—made the
dining reservation, that checks the main requirement (since Guests must be 18 years of age or older to make reservations). From there, your 16-year-old son and his 17-year-old friend are perfectly fine to dine at the restaurant on their own without an adult present at the table. Cast Members are always nearby if they need anything, and River Belle Terrace has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that’s well-suited for teens enjoying a meal together.
One simple tip for everyone’s peace of mind is to decide ahead of time where and when you’ll be meeting back up afterward—
Main Street, U.S.A. is a popular and easy landmark for reunions. Since evenings can get especially busy during
nighttime spectaculars, it’s also helpful to choose a backup meeting spot nearby just in case crowd flow slows things down. And of course, making sure both teens have charged phones and a clear plan for messaging if anything changes can go a long way toward helping everyone relax and enjoy their separate adventures knowing exactly how and when they’ll reconnect.
As they head in for dinner, it also creates a nice little pocket of time just for you and your husband to wander, ride, snack, and soak in the atmosphere before everyone reunites later that evening. It’s a great chance to slow down for a bit and enjoy the park at your own pace.
Alfredo, I hope this helps you feel confident about your plans! If you’d like suggestions for what the teens might enjoy ordering at River Belle Terrace, or ideas for how you and your husband could spend that hour or so nearby, we’d be happy to help.
Here’s to a day that’s perfectly planned for everyone!
