Just made reservation for March 16-25, 2013 using our DVC membership. We try to do something different each visit. Thinking the guys might like a fishing trip. Wondered if anyone has done this and if the experience was good.

    Hi Connie,

I have not yet tried a fishing excursion, but have researched this for you as well as talked with the other Moms for advise.  Let me tell you that this sounds fantastic and such a unique experience at Walt Disney World.  I wanted you to have this website for reference:  www.wdwinfo.com/recreation/fishing.htm
This will give you more detailed information on pricing and specific times.  You will need to call (407) WDW-PLAY to reserve the boat.  These tend to book up quickly so I would make the reservation around 90 days in advance.  You will have a captain who is very experienced and will help you with baiting, casting, netting, and releasing the fish if you want help.  The boat comes with everything:  rods and reels, nets, bait, and non-alcoholic beverages.  The captain will move the boat if the fish aren't biting, and is very knowledgeable about fishing, the lakes, and Disney.  The boats will hold from two to five people, and the whole experience is usually around four hours with two hours of fishing.  You can also go Cane Pole fishing at Port Orleans Riverside or Ft. Wilderness Campgrounds if you would rather not be in a boat.  I know your guys will have such a wonderful time fishing at Walt Disney World.  Perhaps you and the ladies need to take an excursion to the Spa if fishing is not your thing to do.  I can give you lots of advise on this as well Connie!  Have a magical vacation!
