Hello, I've made a reservation for January 9th at Disneyland Resort to celebrate my daughter's 6th birthday. Are there any special arrangements or perks available for her birthday? I want to make this day exceptionally memorable. Renata

Hi Renata! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.

We love to celebrate our birthdays at Disneyland Resort! We'll be celebrating my son's birthday this spring at the Disneyland Resort, and he's just a year older than your daughter. It won't be the first time we've marked a special occasion in the parks, so I can tell you it will be a magical experience you and she will remember forever.

I've got some suggestions on how to make it extra special. First, pick up a complimentary Celebration Button in City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland Park or Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park. You never know what magic will happen when people see she's celebrating! Plus, it makes for a fun keepsake.

Second, plan a special meal (or two) for a chance to sit down and celebrate together. Dining reservations can be made 60 days out, so be sure you make those soon! If your top choices are full, keep checking. People's plans change all the time, which will lead to availability opening up. Some dining locations offer a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake, which you can book with your meal when you make your reservation. It's a yummy choice.

For that age, I think a Character Dining Experience is a perfect fit for birthday dining. You've got several magical choices both in and outside the parks. We love Goofy's Kitchen in Disneyland Hotel, but if your daughter loves a royal welcome, try the Disney Princess Breakfast Adventure in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. It's a really elevated experience. You'd expect nothing less from the princesses!

Also, your daughter can receive the royal treatment with an appointment at the popular Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park. It's an immersive and transformational experience she's bound to love. Alternatively, if she's more of a galactic princess, another imaginative experience is the Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, where she can build her very own droid friend! Our boys have loved theirs for years, so they're hardy little companions.

Be sure to take all the pictures! Disney's PhotoPass Service allows everyone in your group to be in the pictures, and the photographers are incredibly talented. Every trip, we end up framing our pictures or using them on our holiday cards. These photos are a great way to capture the moment.

I hope you have a magical time with your daughter!
