Hi there, Brittney!
Welcome to planDisney. It looks like you are planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort during the holidays, which is such a special time of year to be in the parks. There always seems to be a little extra magic in the air!
While I'm sure you would love to chat about all the holiday festivities, I bet you are eager to get your Disneyland ducks in a row and secure your
theme park reservations. Let's take a look. There are several types of theme park tickets, from Magic Keys to Park Hoppers to One Park Per Day to special offers like the 70th Anniversary Tickets, each with its own pool of theme park reservations for any particular day. When you pull up the
reservation availability calendar, you'll want to ensure you have toggled to the one that matches your ticket type. With a glance, I can see that the dates in late December are just starting to become available as they open up 180 days in advance. There's a chance you may have been trying to make reservations for dates that weren't quite at the 180-day mark, in which case they would show as gray. I can see that, as of this morning, they are open with availability for both parks through December 27th.
If the calendar is still showing as unavailable for you, I'd recommend double-checking that your
Disney Resort Hotel Package is linked correctly to your account. You should have received a package confirmation number. While your tickets will not arrive in your account until three days before your arrival, with this number, the system will recognize you have booked a package and allow you to make theme park reservations. Head into the Disneyland app and tap the three-line icon in the bottom right-hand corner, scrolling down to "Hotel Reservations". Tap here to enter your confirmation number, last name, and arrival date. Once your reservation is visible, tap the "+" in the bottom navigation bar and head to "Make a Park Reservation". Tap the blue button that says "Make or Modify Park Reservations", and follow the instructions from there. If you are still not finding available reservations, I'd recommend giving the
Guest Services team a call. They will be able to view your account to see where the hiccup might be!
Once you have those reservations in place, you'll be able to relax and start mapping out your visit. I'd recommend keeping your eyes peeled on the
Disney Parks Blog and Disneyland social media accounts, as they will be the first to announce news around what will be offered at the
holidays this year. As you may know, Disneyland is also celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, so we are waiting to hear how those offerings will mix in with the typical holiday festivities. One note for your planning is the
Entertainment Schedule, typically released 6 weeks ahead of time, will give you a great rundown of scheduled parades and nighttime spectaculars. Plan to check that out to earmark any must-sees and must-dos for your party.
Brittney, I sure hope this has been helpful! If you have any more questions, we here at
planDisney are always available for a friendly tip or two or three! I'm wishing you a magical visit next December!
Seasons greetings!
Tara
