Welcome to planDisney, Christine! I'm so happy to help you with your question today and thank you for thinking of us as a vacation planning resource for your upcoming Disneyland Resort trip!
I have some good news for you, Christine. Generally, if you have a
standard ticket and theme park reservation, the name you selected on the ticket won't necessarily need to match your MyDisney account in order to have valid entry to the Disneyland Resort theme parks. Instead, tickets are officially assigned to the Guests using them upon their first scanned entrance to the park, when a Cast Member will take their photo as the form of identification for the ticket. If you have a
special offer ticket, like an Anaheim or Southern California resident ticket that occasionally becomes available from time to time, then proof of residency with a valid form of government-issued photo ID is required, in which case, it would be important to ensure that the name matches what is placed on the ticket and theme park reservation.
Either way, I completely understand if you want to make sure the name appears correctly on your ticket to keep everything well-organized. In this case, I would suggest calling the
Tickets line to speak with a Cast Member and request the name change. I recently made a change to my account information and the Cast Members were very helpful and accommodating. You may need to provide them with the original account information and the confirmation number for your ticket purchase in order to make this change, so I'd recommend having these details on hand.
I hope this information has been a helpful start, Christine. If we can support you in any way as you continue preparing for your upcoming visit to Disneyland Resort, please don't hesitate to come back to planDisney! I recently enjoyed all the
Halloween Time offerings which will still be on full display when you arrive in October. You can't miss the seasonal overlays on classic attractions like
Haunted Mansion Holiday (now available through a virtual queue). Plus, all the seasonal eats and treats, and the character costumes make this time of year extra delightful! I hope you have a grim grinning good time!
Happy Haunts,
