Galactic greetings, Robert, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I sense the Force is strong with you, and I can’t wait for you to travel to a galaxy far, far away soon!
I’m so excited to hEAR that you made your reservation to build a custom astromech droid unit at
Droid Depot upon your arrival in Batuu! My son and I recently had the opportunity to build a droid, and we had a blast! Based on our experience, I would estimate that the droid-building process takes about 20 minutes from start to finish. If you're looking to save time, you may want to think about which type of unit you'd like to make (a BB-series or R-series) and what colors you'd like, too. My son especially enjoyed using the electronic screwdriver to assemble his droid! I checked with my fellow panelist,
Tony, whose son built a lightsaber at
Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers, and he estimated that the experience took about 15-20 minutes. I hope these estimates will help you as you plan your explorations of Black Spire Outpost!
Have you made a reservation for
Oga’s Cantina yet? It’s my favorite local watering hole on Batuu! I tried the
Bespin Fizz, while my son enjoyed the Blue Bantha. The Bespin Fizz was sweet, but refreshing!
Exploring the shops of Black Spire Outpost is another fun experience in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. My favorite spots to visit are Toydarian Toymaker and Creature Stall – you never know what unique creatures you’ll find slithering around!
Lastly, don’t forget to download the
Play Disney Parks app to further enhance your galactic adventures. Use it to interact with droids, or scan crates in the queue for
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This app will play an important part in helping you live your very own
Star Wars story!
May the Force be with you, Robert!
