Hi! I have made a reservation at California Grill at 9:45 on 11/18/22. I know there is a Christmas Party that night so fireworks are later. Will I still be able to view/enjoy them at the California grill? How does that work?

Hey Howdy Hey Jessica and welcome to planDisney!

Pairing a delicious meal at California Grill with the nighttime fireworks show in Magic Kingdom is such a great way to spend an evening! The whole restaurant gets involved in the show as the lights dim and the music is piped in from Magic Kingdom to surround you. Thank you for your question about the fireworks during a special event like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Let's go over the details.

You are right that the firework show is usually a bit later during the special events that take place in Magic Kingdom. The one piece of the puzzle we still are missing is the confirmation of when the fireworks will be taking place on the nights of Mickey's Verry Merry Christmas Party. If we look at Mickey's Not-So-Scarry Halloween Party, the firework show takes place around 10:15 PM EST. The hours are the same for Halloween as the Christmas party so I would guess it would be around the same time. This should work perfectly for your dining reservation! Make sure to keep an eye on the Park Hours as we move closer to your trip for the confirmed times for the show!

When you arrive for your reservation, you can speak with the Cast Member and your server about great places to view the fireworks. You will have the option to view them from the restaurant, as there is not a bad seat in the house, or outside on the viewing deck of Disney's Contemporary Resort. This is usually closed off exclusively for Guests dining at the California Grill at that time and earlier in the day. Either way, if you are not in the parks, this is the place to be when it comes to viewing the fireworks in Magic Kingdom!

I hope you are getting super excited about your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth really soon! If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out and let us know, we would be happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
