Yo ho, yo ho, Kristin! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for sailing this question in to us. I love that you are getting ready to fill yer belly at
Blue Bayou with some mighty fine New Orleans provisions.
Blue Bayou Restaurant is my favorite restaurant in
Disneyland Park. The atmosphere, the adventuring buccaneers cruising by, and the chance to drink up me hearties, yo ho, make it such a special addition to any Disney day. I also love late dining reservations, and it is helpful to know that "park close" is simply the time when guests begin making their way out of the parks. If someone is already in line for an attraction, or in your case, sitting down to start their feast at the Blue Bayou, they are allowed to finish their experience. Rest assured, you will not be rushed. By the way, my personal recommendations are the Prime Rib, the plant based Crème Brûlée Tart, and don’t sleep on the Louisiana Lemonade!
One of the best parts of a late dining reservation is getting to walk out of Disneyland Park with only a few guests around. It is the perfect time to grab a nighttime Sleeping Beauty Castle photo without crowds. It’s important to know, you will not be able to hop on any attractions on your way out, although you may be able to grab a last swashbuckling souvenir since some shops on
Main Street, U.S.A. typically stay open after the official closing time.
Kristin, your visit is just around the corner, so get ready and start dreaming of all the memories you are about to make. Keep an eye out for scallywags as you set sail on your Disney adventure. If anything else comes up, drift back by and I will be here to help chart the course.
'Til we meet again,
Kimberly
