Hi Richard,
Welcome to planDisney!
Well, hooray that mom wants to join the fun at the Walt Disney World® Resort! It sounds like you have a reservation at
Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. This resort is super cute and I love it because when we are not using our
Disney Vacation Club membership, the rooms are budget-friendly. Since the rooms at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort sleep up to four adults, you may not be able to add your mom to the reservation. There are two beds and although the rooms are lovely, the space is limited. The cast member I spoke with confirmed that you would need to find other accommodations.
Even though you would prefer not to switch resorts, you may need some additional space. Consider
Disney's All-Star Music Resort. They have a family suite that sleeps up to six so it might work. Also take a look at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. The family suites are adorable. And, these suites have two bathrooms. As an added bonus, this resort has access to the
Disney Skyliner. Although I cannot see your reservation, I can imagine that there may be a price difference with these new room options. Even if there is, I would consider the value of the additional space. As much as we like to think we can squeeze, I have never regretted splurging on roomier accommodations.
Richard, remember that if you add your mom to your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation, she will also need to have the same number of theme park ticket days and a
Disney Dining Plan if your vacation package includes a dining plan. I suggest that you check the
Special Offers to see if there are any applicable to the dates of your visit that would help make your resort change more affordable. Thankfully, you have a little time to try to adjust. Final tip - be sure to modify any
advanced dining reservations to five guests. Sending a little extra pixie dust hoping that you can make those changes and start planning with your mom. Life is precious, so I will always say - make the memories!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
