Mychele from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I made a purchase online to add one more person to my plan and I chose a date that is not allowed on the one day pass that I bought for my brother to join us on July 9th. But, I don’t know how to change it to July 10th.

Hi there, Mychele! Welcome to planDisney!

I can see that you are hoping to land at the Happiest Place on Earth in just a few days. I bet you're eager to get all your plans in place, so let's jump right into your question! It sounds like you are trying to change the date of the theme park reservation on the ticket you purchased for your brother. I hope I got that right! The good news is that I checked the theme park reservation calendar and, as of this moment, July 9th and 10th are both open for both parks and ticket types. This, of course, is subject to change as reservations are limited, but for now, you're in luck!

To change the reservation date, simply open up your Disneyland Mobile App and tap the "+" on the bottom navigation bar. Select "Make a Park Reservation". On the next screen, if you scroll down you should see the option to "View My Park Reservations". Tap into here and scroll to the date you'd like to change. The system does not let you "modify" a reservation, but you can cancel and reschedule. Before making any changes, double-check that your new date is still available on the calendar. When you get to the date you'd like to change for your brother, select "Cancel Reservation". Don't be nervous, on the next page you will be able to select the specific Guest(s) you are canceling for. Once the cancellation is confirmed, you will be able to make a new reservation for the new date.

One thing that you may have already discovered is that single-day ticket pricing is based on time of year and day of the week. There are actually 6 tiers for single-day tickets, each with its own set of block-out dates. You can check which tier your ticket belongs to on your ticket confirmation email. Essentially, if you purchase a ticket for a specific day and then go to change the reservation for another day, your original ticket may be in a lower tier and the new date may be blocked out as it's in a higher tier. If this is the case, you may get an error message when you are trying to make a new reservation. You are able to upgrade to a higher tier in person at the Main Entrance Ticket Booth, but you would be subject to same-day availability on theme park reservations. My best advice here is to call the Guest Services team ahead of your trip to discuss your situation directly!

With so much magic in the air, be sure to check out the Entertainment Schedule ahead of time to plan out some of your must-see spectaculars and shows! I cannot wait to check out the new Tale of the Lion King back in the Fantasyland Theatre! Such a great spot for a midday break, and I love that it adds another level of entertainment to the day in addition to attractions and character greetings. You already know the music will take your breath away, and the costumes and performances I've heard are just STUNNING!

Mychele, I know this may be a lot to take in. If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out to me directly or come back to see us here at planDisney
