I just made Park Reservations for my April 2021 trip. If our plans change and we do not show up for a park reservation, what happens? Is there some kind of penalty? I am thinking I booked too many days in a row and may need a resort day. Thx.

    Hi Cynthia!

The planner in me loves to hear that you have already made your theme park reservations for your 2021 Walt Disney World vacation! I'll bet you cannot wait to be back in the Most Magical Place on Earth...me too! To pass the time, get prepared for your return to the magic with some great Know Before You Go information and details about specific experiences like tours, events, and recreation.

You can absolutely cancel your Disney Park Pass reservation if your plans change. Say that you are leaning towards skipping a theme park day for the pool or just spending time at your Disney Resort, then I would recommend that you cancel your Disney Park Pass reservation. Not because you will be penalized in any way if you didn’t visit the designated theme park that day for your reservation, but more so because it would free up some other Guests to book that theme park. The Disney Park Pass system does keep track of availability and updates based on cancellations, which is why we recommend that Guests check back in case others make cancellations.

My kids say that some of their best Disney vacation memories involve a relaxing day poolside, and their favorites include the Lava Pool at Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. So I think you are wise to build in some down time to your vacation.

To add an element of spontaneity to your trip, you can even check park availability on the Disney Park Pass availability calendar to see if any last-minute reservations are available and can switch your plans.

If you want to bounce around more vacation ideas, swim back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  Whatever you decide, I hope you fill your vacation with memory making fun with your family.

    See ya real soon!
