Elaine from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I made a magic key terrace reservation with the understanding I could reserve a spot for world of color sit down viewing on august 24th with sit down viewing when I checked in for the reservation. I am unable to verify there is availability.

Heya, Elaine, and welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you stopped by with your question. Your trip to the Disneyland Resort next month sounds absolutely enchanting—it's hard to believe August is already on the horizon! I'm so glad you're looking to unlock some extra magic with the World of Color Dining Package, and choosing Magic Key Terrace is a brilliant idea. In fact, I've had my eye on their Jolly Tomato-Basil Soup for quite some time, and now you've got me thinking I need to make my own reservation to try it!

Now, let's chat about securing a reserved viewing spot for World of Color Happiness! You're looking at August 24th, and while you're right that a dining package is a wonderful way to experience the show, there's a different kind of magic planned for Disney California Adventure Park that evening. Unfortunately, World of Color Happiness! will not be showing because Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party will be haunting the park! Since this is a separately ticketed event, the park will be closing early to prepare for all the ghoulish fun.

But don't you worry just yet, Elaine! Since you're interested in the Magic Key Terrace, it sounds like you're a fellow Magic Key holder. And since it also looks like you may be arriving at the resort a couple of days earlier than August 24th, this may give you some fantastic flexibility to adjust your park reservation to visit Disney California Adventure Park on another day. At the time I'm writing this, it looks like the World of Color Dining Package is available on both August 23 and August 25, 2025. So, with a little shift in your plans, you should still be able to snag that fantastic dining and show experience you're hoping for!

By the way, I also noticed you mentioned sit-down viewing. It's helpful to know that the World of Color Dining Package actually comes with a voucher for a standing viewing area. If you have your heart set on seated viewing, the World of Color Dessert Party is a different experience that does include reserved seating with a spectacular view of the show. However, like the dining package on August 24th, the Dessert Party is also unavailable that evening due to Oogie Boogie Bash.

Now, while World of Color won't be lighting up the waterfront that evening, Elaine, the park will still be sparkling with lots of Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration magic! Keep an eye out for special 70th-themed treats, merchandise, and enchanting decorations throughout the park that day. There are even some special surprises tucked away on Toy Story Midway Mania! Even without the show, your visit will be filled with an extra layer of celebration flair!

I hope this info helps, Elaine! My biggest wish is that you're able to shift your park reservation to experience the magical World of Color Dining Package on a day the show is running. No matter what, your Disneyland Resort visit is going to be absolutely unforgettable, filled with 70th Celebration sparkle and all the Disney magic you can imagine! Please don't hesitate to ask if any other questions pop up as you plan.
