Hi Wendy!
Welcome back to planDisney!
I can empathize with the discount dilemma! If you only purchased theme park tickets, those are non-refundable, so you would, unfortunately, not be able to apply a discount at this point. If, however, you booked a
vacation package through the Walt Disney World Resort with a resort hotel and theme park tickets, you could potentially modify to a room-only reservation or you could cancel the vacation package altogether and reserve the room again. You would just need to then purchase your theme park tickets separately and then
link those park tickets in My Disney Experience.
Before modifying or cancelling a vacation package or resort reservation, always double-check your final payment due date to be sure you will not incur any cancellation fees. Before you make a final decision about those discounted tickets, I do suggest that you go all of the way through the purchase process to see the actual total before purchasing. When I looked at tickets on the same site, by the time I got to the final price the savings were not as large as I thought they would be.
Looking at your arrival date, you have some time! I trust you will make the best decision for your family. If you do have a vacation package, I advise you to keep an eye on the
Special Offers to see any new discounts that might be applicable to the dates of your visit. Also, if you made
Disney Park Pass system reservations and cancel an existing vacation package with theme park tickets, you will need valid theme park admission linked in My Disney Experience within two days to keep those park pass reservations. Check the
operational updates as well as the
updates on dining and
theme park experiences since policies and procedures could change at any time!
Wendy, I am so excited for your visit! I trust that you are planning to make
advanced dining reservations. On our last visit, we were so happy to have several dining reservations. It was easy to use
Mobile Dine Check-in and
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering. Just make sure you have downloaded the My Disney Experience Mobile App and you should be good to go!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
