I made dinner reservations online for our vacation. I'm uncertain about the cancellation policy. Most restaurants state cancellation as: 1 day/$10. Does that mean that you will be charged $10/person if you cancel the day before your reservation date?

    Hi Pat!

The credit card guarantee policy is in place at select Walt Disney World restaurants (mostly for the uber popular and uber awesome restaurants). That being said, it sounds like you picked some great spots to eat at during your upcoming vacation!

From reading your question, it looks like your understanding of the cancellation policy is correct. For those restaurants that require a credit card guarantee, no charges will go on your card unless you're a no-show or have to cancel with less time on the clock than what's been allotted (usually 24 hours). Otherwise, a charge will be applied based on the number of guests on that reservation.

Personally, I'm happy to see this policy because it's helped to reduce the number of "abusive" reservations on the books. I've heard people say that they booked multiple reservations and just decided which ones to keep that day. As such, those guests clogged up the reservation system and made it hard for other guests to get reservations. As a person who loves to eat at the table service restaurants in Walt Disney World, this has been a welcome change for me.

I hope that helps answer your question. If you should have any further questions as you plan your upcoming vacation, please feel free to send them my way and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can!

    Best regards,
    Derek
