Hey Howdy Hey Cheryl and welcome back to planDisney!
How exciting it is that your vacation is coming up in just a matter of a couple of months! September is a great time to visit Walt Disney World Resort for many reasons. There is so much happening in the fall, like the
EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, that I am sure you will have so much fun. The other big fall celebration is at
Magic Kingdom with Mickey's-Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. There are some specifics you should be aware of on the evening of your trip to the park, so let's talk about the party.
The Disney community very enthusiastically welcomed the news of the return of Mickey's Not-So-Scarry Halloween party. This beloved party has so many special and unique ways to celebrate the Halloween season from special parades, firework shows and trick-or-treating throughout the park. If you never have attended, I would highly recommend you look into checking this party out!
Now on the night of the party, Guests entering the party, starting at 4:00 p.m., can do so and get their special wristband that Disney uses to identify Guests that have purchased the tickets. Tickets will be verified by MagicBands, MagicMobile Pass or MagicCard. When the party officially begins, Disney staff will comb through the park asking Guests that do not have the wrists bands to exit.
As you have found out, dining reservations may come close to when the park closes, or at least switch gears for the Halloween party. You can check on the park hours and specifics on the
park calendar and hours online. As long as you have a valid dining reservation, you will be allowed to attend your reservation and take your time with your meal. After your meal, you will be asked to exit the park as it will be available for those that purchased tickets for the event.
Considering you will be in Magic Kingdom and resort transportation will be running for a while why not consider resort hopping? One of my favorite things to do with the Magic Kingdom resorts is to visit each, grab a specialty drink or snack from each and just shop around and check out their gift shops and the resort as a whole. My top recommendation is to make your way to
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. If you know what time the fireworks will happen in Magic Kingdom that night, you can watch them from the beach at the Polynesian. They even have the music piped in for the full experience! Such a great way to end the evening.
I hope I was able to give you a little insight into the details of the evening you will be in Magic Kingdom and some other options to take advantage of. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out and let us know, we would be happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Nick
