Hey there, Deborah!
Welcome to planDisney!
Dinner at Steakhouse 71 is sure to be one of the highlights of your trip. And while steaks may be the feature of the menu,
the appetizers are pretty great too! I have found the Lump Crab Cakes to be perfectly prepared, and the Steakhouse 71 Onion Rings are delicious. Be sure to arrive hungry.
If you plan on
using Disney Transportation, your best route would be taking the bus from your resort to the Magic Kingdom. Once you arrive, you can choose to take the resort monorail or a short walk over to
the Contemporary Resort. You will not need a theme park ticket to use these routes, but you will need to go through security. I recommend planning at least an hour to get to your destination to allow for any possible delays. And if you arrive early, you can head to the lounge for a pre-dinner cocktail or mocktail! When returning to your resort, you will walk back to Magic Kingdom or take the monorail and proceed to the bus for your resort. Be sure to keep an eye on park hours. Buses typically stop running one hour after park closing.
Deborah, you can also opt to use a ride share like Lyft. This would give you a direct route to the Contemporary Resort, without the addition of a walk or monorail ride. When you arrive at the gate, have your confirmation number handy, and a Cast Member will direct the driver where to drop you off for your dinner reservation. You can also get picked up at the end of your meal and be back in your resort in no time. If you're looking for an extra special ride with a little Disney magic, consider
booking a Minnie Van! Minnie Vans are driven by Cast Members and can be booked directly through the Lyft app. My Ohana and I love using this service. The rides get you where you need to be with ease, and the Cast Members are happy to chat about all things Disney along the way. These vehicles also offer car seats for those traveling with little ones, plenty of chargers for your devices, and are always the perfect temperature. This may just become your favorite way to travel around Walt Disney World Resort!
We'll see ya real soon!
