Hi Travis! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for sending us your question! I'm so happy to see that you are arriving at The Most Magical Place on Earth in just a few weeks!
I'm so glad to hear that you have some
advanced dining reservations to enjoy! If a member of your travel party cannot dine with you, this is generally not a problem, and reducing the size of your dining party by one person should not result in a fee. I just had several reservations last month at Walt Disney World Resort where I needed to lower the number of adults by one and never had any problems doing this. When your dining reservation time is nearing (usually within 15 minutes), you will be prompted to check in through the
My Disney Experience app, provided you have downloaded it to your mobile device. Once you begin the check-in process, you will be prompted to confirm the number of adults and children. If the elderly family member is unable to join you to dine, you can reduce the number of adults by one. If you need to cancel any dining reservations, be sure to do this prior to 24 hours before your reserved time to avoid a fee of $10 per person.
It's always best to have plans in place and after traveling with my multi-generational family a few weeks ago, my best advice is not to over plan. If your schedule allows for it, I would recommend planning some downtime. Our family loves to have a pool day between park days to relax, recharge, and enjoy the amenities our resort has to offer. It really made a difference and benefited all of us!
I hope you enjoy your vacation during
The World's Most Magical Celebration! Please stop by

Happy Planning!
