I made character dinner reservations for 8:00 pm at the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot. How long will the dinner take and will I still be able to see the IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth Show at 9:00 pm?

    Hi Heidi,

Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus in Norway in Epcot is fabulous!  The food is great, the setting is awesome, and the Disney Princesses can't be beat.  The good news is that after dinner you walk out the door and you are just a few steps away from the World Showcase Lagoon where Illuminations takes place.  The bad news, however, is that I don't think you have enough time to enjoy the meal.  I suggest trying to move your Advanced Dining Reservation up to 7:30.

When I plan on having a Table Service meal, I usually plan on spending an hour to an hour and a half there.  Your ADR is at 8:00, but you might not be seated until after that.  Thus you will be pressed for time.  This is a Character Dining Experience and it will take some time for all of the characters to make it around the restaurant.  Unless you are just going for the food, I don't think you will want to leave before all of the princesses make it to your table for a visit.

Unfortunately, I've been in similar situations before.  If you can't change your ADR, then assuming you get seated and can get through the majority of your meal before Illuminations starts, you can always stay behind to take care of the bill, etc. Just send everybody else in your party out to World Showcase to enjoy the fireworks when it starts.  However, I think you would be happier if you move up your reservation if you can.  Illuminations is something that nobody should miss!

    Have a magical vacation!
