Welcome to planDisney, Stefanie! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today. It sounds like you've got so much to celebrate on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World, and I'm happy to let you know exactly how to inform the
restaurants you're dining at so they can get in on the fun with you.
The time to let a restaurant know you're celebrating a special occasion is when you check in for your reservation. There are two ways to do it: either through
mobile check-in in the
My Disney Experience app or in person at the restaurant's host stand.
If you use mobile check-in, which is my personal favorite method, you can do it right from your phone starting about 15 minutes before your reservation time. Once your check-in window opens, you'll receive a push notification prompting you to check in, or you can scan the QR code in the lobby to start the process. You'll be able to confirm your party size, any special dietary needs, and the fun part: select a celebration if you have one. The app will give you some options for common celebrations, including birthdays and anniversaries, and you can choose the ones that apply to your visit. It's quick, easy, and ensures your celebration note goes right to the Cast Members before you even step inside.
If you'd rather, you can also share your special occasions in person when you arrive. Just let the host know that you're celebrating a birthday and an anniversary, and they'll make a note in the system for your server. There's no guarantee of anything specific, but Disney Cast Members always go out of their way to make your special celebrations memorable.
I hope this answers your question, Stefanie, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
