Lv this site! Please tell me about the back gate @ Epcot. Can I use this to WALK to Eat at Beaches and Cream? How long will it take us to walk there? Its a T/S or C/S Resturant? Also, dosen't a resort over that way a viewing of the animals w/ bino

Thanks for your kind comments which added some pixie dust to my day.

Epcot’s International Gateway is between the United Kingdom and France pavilions in World Showcase. You will pass the United Kingdom’s World Traveler store. After you exit the turnstiles, there will be Friendship water launches to take you to some of the Epcot resorts (Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach Club, Dolphin and Swan).

For re-entry, you will pass Security where you’ll have your bags checked and then proceed through the turnstiles and back to World Showcase.

Yes, you can reach Beaches and Cream by exiting the International Gateway. This 5 minute walk is a relaxing stroll to the Yacht and Beach Club resort. If your feet are tired, board a Friendship boat. Beaches and Cream is a table service restaurant. It is a very small, old-fashioned soda fountain. Due to its small size and lack of ability to make Advance Dining reservations, there can be a long wait at this restaurant. There is also a takeout window that offers a small menu of ice cream and beverages. We found the food and ice cream worth the wait.

You will want to travel to the Animal Kingdom Lodge in order to view the animals on the savannah. There are many vantage points from which you can view the animals. The giraffes are my favorite. Ask a Cast Member for directions to a convenient viewing area.
