Luv the panel-read everyday. Have a grand gathering from 9/19-9/26 & have Safari Cele @ AK. Is the safari different/longer from the regular ride safari? Have 6 kids & want to make sure it is worth the 2 table svc credits per person.

    Hi Crystal,

My family did the Safari Celebration Dinner a couple of years ago, and it was fantastic.  Although the safari takes the same path they do during the attraction, it is not the same experience.  Our driver took much longer and even stopped a few times so we could take photos.

Afterwards, we went to the Tusker House for an African feast.  The food was served family style, and there were many delicious dishes.  Outside on the patio a cast member had some creepy, crawly type creatures to look at and/or touch - I think it was a tarantula & some sort of snake the night we went.

There were characters in the foyer available for autographs and photos.  I think we had Turk & Timon, but the characters may vary.  There was also an African band that played throughout dinner and even invited the children to come up and play with them.

My father in-law was part of our Grand Gathering.  He's not easily impressed, and he thought it was a highlight of the trip!

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
