LUV THIS PANEL!! Coming 9/24-10/3 with DH and 2 1/2 year old daughter. What are your thoughts on the Halloween Party with a young child? Is the baby center still open throughout this event?

Hi, Rayna!    I am happy you are enjoying the Moms Panel!   All of us really enjoy helping guests make the most of their time in WDW!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a lot of fun with super decorations, trick or treating around the park, and great costumes.   However, with a 2 1/2 year old princess, this is something you can probably skip.   I took my son when he was 2, and he was a bit intimidated by the "dry smoke" effects and the parade was a bit scary for him.   My parents ended up taking him back to our resort after just about an hour while we stayed with my older daughter at the party.

If your little girl likes all Halloween has to offer, then she might enjoy it.   However, if she likes to go to bed early (party goes until midnight) and gets scared easily, you might want to wait until she is a little older.

I don't want to scare anyone away from this event - it is a LOT of fun.   It isn't frightening for most, but 2 is a touchy age (at least for my kids it was!) and I would rather play it safe!   It is  your call!    The baby center remains open during the party for your convenience, so if you decide to give the party a try, feel free to use the Baby Care Center located at the top of Main St. near the Crystal Palace.

Good luck and enjoy your vacation.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
