Luv panal! Traveling w/ 5 & 2 yr olds 4/25-5/2, will try to follow touring plan. Want to see characters in addition to other attractions. When would you recommend getting in line for characters (Mickey, Princesses, Ariel, etc) at MK? What about at AK

    Sara:

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel for our thoughts!

I've been to Disney with children very close to your ages and Character meets are exciting!  (As much for me as for them!)

We took some advice from some friends long ago to skip the afternoon or evening parade and go to the Judges Tent in Toon Town to get our "biggest bang" with Characters.  And this advice was spot on!  Many little ones were lining the streets for the parade, so our wait was not as long.  The same can be said for Animal Kingdom: go to Camp Minnie Mickey during the parade....

    HOWEVER
, if you like perfectly-coiffed children with clean outfits and faces in your pictures, this may not be the best time of day!  I have to say I have pictures of some little sweaty faces hugging Mickey with dribbles of ice cream down their shirts!

If you have the touring plans, you will be able to squeeze A LOT more into your day than most families—leaving you some time to stand in a few impromptu lines for characters your children may see.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
