Luv the moms! Just booked trip for Nov.2010 with dinning plan. 5 of us will be going 4 adults and 1 kid. 2 adult DD's are picky eaters. Can they order an apitizer or salad as dinner on the regular dinning plan? Thanks for your help!

    Hi Patty!

The Disney Dining Plans are very flexible because you can use your meal credits when and how you want to. If anyone in your party wants to get an appetizer or a salad rather than a full meal, I would suggest that you pay cash for those items instead of using up a Table Service Meal Credit.  An appetizer at Walt Disney World is much less expensive than a meal. Your unused Table Service Meal Credits can be used for a 2 Credit Table Service Meal during your trip or an extra Table Service Meal for everyone in your party, if you save enough of them up by utilizing this strategy. By ordering the more expensive meals when you are using the Table Service Dining Credits, you can get the most for your money out of the Dining Plan.

Also keep in mind that anyone can order a children's meal, if they do not like what is on the adult menu or they want smaller portions.  I would suggest paying cash for a children's meal instead of using an Adult Table Service Meal Credit.  I have used this strategy with my son on my last trip when he wanted to order from the children's menu instead of from the adult menu. We were able to experience an extra two Table Service Meals from the unused Meal Credits that had accumulated by the end of our trip.  Just make sure to inform the Cast Member waiting on you that you would like to pay cash for the children's meal or appetizer and use the Dining Plan for the rest of the meals.  The only situation that this strategy will not work is for a buffet style restaurant.  At a buffet an adult must pay full adult price or use one adult dining credit whether they eat one piece of lettuce or a full meal.

I hope that you have some magical dining experiences on your next trip to Walt Disney World!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
