We have lunch reservations at Be Our Guest. I was wondering when the servers bring you your meal, are they considered 'waiters' that you would tip. Want to make sure I do the right thing.

Hey there Cynthia! Thanks for "Being Our Guest" again at the Disney Moms Panel! (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

If you haven't tried Be Our Guest Restaurant in the Beast's Castle yet, you're in for such a treat! When I first entered the Grand Ballroom, I felt like I had stepped right into "Beauty and the Beast." And be sure to take a few minutes to look around all the dining areas, from the dark and stormy West Wing, to the whimsical Rose Gallery. There's so much to see, you might just forget to eat!

Everything about Be Our Guest feels like an extraordinary experience. You'll eat from real plates, use cloth napkins and metal silverware, enjoy delectable food, and we've already talked about the incredible atmosphere. With all this finery, it's easy to forget you're actually eating in what Disney considers a counter-service location for breakfast and lunch. I asked my fellow panelists for their thoughts on this, and they agreed that since you won't have a single dedicated server taking care of you, there's no need to tip here.

Of course, dinner is a more traditional sit-down affair, so you would tip as you see fit should you decide to try that on a future visit.

I hope you have a wonderful time at Be Our Guest, Cynthia. And do try the grey stuff, it really is delicious. Just ask the dishes!

    Have a magical day,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
