We have lunch reservations at DD and was wondering if there is a direct bus either MK or Epcot? if not what would be the best route to take to get to both of these parks from DD?

    Hi Rachel,

No, there are no direct buses to Downtown Disney from Epcot or Magic Kingdom. In my experience, the quickest route from Magic Kingdom is to travel by bus to Saratoga Springs. From there you can take a short walking path directly over to Downtown Disney.

If you are at Epcot, the World Showcase opens at 11:00 a.m. Depending on the time of your Advanced Dining Reservation, you can exit the back of World Showcase through the International Gateway and walk towards the Resort Hotels surrounding Crescent Lake, all offering bus transportation to Downtown Disney.

Though not the shortest but perhaps the most scenic is to take a bus from the front of Epcot to Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter or Riverside. You can then take a water taxi to Downtown Disney.

I personally think the quickest from Epcot is to take the a bus to Disney's Pop Century and then transfer to a Downtown Disney bus.

Because of the additional transfers, I'd allow 1.5 hours for travel time. Better to err on the side of caution and therefore have plenty of time to browse the shops and restaurants beforehand.

If running late, simply hail a taxi. It'll be an out of pocket expense, but will get you there in a jiffy.

Have a great vacation, Rachel, and let us know if you have any other planning questions.
