    We have lunch res at Tusker house. Kids are picky eaters; is this mainly African flavors or did they change the menu for the character lunches? Unable to get Chef Mickey, would it be worthwhile to call closer to vac to try again?

    Hi Robert,

    Since the lunch at Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom is a buffet, kids will find selections that tend to please picky eaters in the children's buffet area. Kid items include:

    Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches
    Corn dog nuggets
    Corn medley
    Chicken drumsticks
    Green beans
    Macaroni and cheese
    Mashed potatoes

    You'll also find entrees such as Cape Malay Curry Chicken celebrating the flavors of Africa in the main buffet areas.

    And of course, the desserts will appeal to everyone with a sweet craving!

    If you really want Chef Mickey's, continue trying. I would look online several times per day for openings. It will be much quicker than calling! Cancellations do happen as vacation dates get closer! It's good to have Tusker House as a back-up. Have a wonderful WDW Trip!
