Hi Tracie!
We're thrilled you stopped by planDisney with your question. With your trip just a few days away, it's time to fire up the countdown calendar and get excited for all the magic that lies ahead. The parks are brimming with celebratory festivities in honor of the
70th Anniversary, so gear up to Celebrate Happy!
There are a few things that I consider quintessential Disneyland experiences, and a meal at
Blue Bayou is one of them. Nestled into a spot in New Orleans Square, you are immediately transported to another time and place where it's always twilight and the perfect temperature to dine "al fresco". And, of course, there's nothing quite like being able to wave to your fellow Guests as they sail away on their Pirate adventure! Currently, Blue Bayou is set to be open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM on your park day, with Lunch from 11:00 AM - 3:55 PM and dinner from 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM. You can search for available times with just a few taps in the Disneyland app by heading to the magnifying glass icon in the bottom navigation bar, typing "Blue Bayou", and tapping "Reserve Dining".
Knowing that this is a popular spot, I went ahead and checked the availability for your park day, and Blue Bayou is currently booked for both lunch and dinner. I know that's not news you were hoping to hear! If you have a little faith, trust, and pixie dust, I've got a few suggestions that might help in securing a table. The first is to keep checking! Guests are always making and canceling plans and
reservations may open up. The cancellation policy for Blue Bayou is 2 hours before a reservation, so I would definitely start checking regularly the day before and even the morning of your park day.
Once you scan into the parks, you can also check the
Mobile Dine Walk-Up availability. This is a feature in the app that allows you to see if there are any last-minute reservations at nearby table service restaurants. Simply head to the app, tap the "+" in the bottom navigation bar, select "Check Dining Availability", and choose "Now" for your preferred time. You will see the option pop up for the walk-up list if there is availability.
My last suggestion, Tracie, is to head to the restaurant about 15 minutes before it's scheduled to open for the day and simply ask the Cast Member if there are any last-minute openings. This is not a guarantee, but it never hurts to ask!
Tracie, I'm going to toss some pixie dust in the air myself and hope that a reservation opens up for you. I hope this has been helpful as you plan for your visit. If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at
planDisney.
Magic awaits,
Tara
