Ahoy there, Kari! Welcome aboard planDisney! It looks like you're just a few weeks away from embarking on a post-Thanksgiving cruise with your crew - how exciting!
Before we had kids, I was squarely in the "I can pack for a Disney Cruise Line vacation in a backpack!" kind of guy, but once our little sailor came along, that went out the porthole, and now I'm part dad, part pack mule. Sometimes I feel a bit like Luisa, having to shoulder everyone's bags...now that's some pressure!
Anyway, can totally relate to you wanting to know exactly the amount of luggage your crew can expect to bring. According to the
Cruise Contract, Guests may check up to two bags per person, one carry-on bag, and one personal item. Carry-on bags must be no larger than 22” x 14” x 9”. This rule is in place because they have to fit through an x-ray machine at the port security check. While there isn't a strict weight limit, I'd say that would likely only be limited by how you are traveling to the port. Reasonable luggage that falls within the guidelines and doesn't contain
prohibited items should all be fair game!
If you haven't already, prior to your cruise you will receive a Guest Travel Booklet and
Luggage Tags. This always gets me even more excited about our upcoming sail. No need to do anything with the luggage tags until you arrive at the port; it's just nice to have them in hand before you board.
So as you're making your final packing lists, I hope that helps you streamline your luggage to the specifications! Oh, and just in case you were wondering, the space under the bed is roughly 14 inches tall, so there's plenty of room under there for suitcases and more!
I hope that helps you get ready to pack all the excitement you can for your upcoming sailing! Remember, memories don't take up any luggage space, so make as many as you want! Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any others, please drop us another line at planDisney!
SEA ya real soon!
