Hi there, Jan!
Welcome to planDisney.
San Diego is one of my favorite vacation destinations, and it is the perfect starting point for a
Disney Cruise! I hope you can make time to explore the city before or after your voyage. The San Diego Zoo, the Gaslamp Quarter, and Balboa Park are some great spots to check out!
Guests will be directed to drop off their luggage at the port, and porters are available to assist with bags. When I am traveling on the Disney Cruise Line with my family, I greatly appreciate the porters' help. They make the process much easier! You should receive Disney Cruise Line luggage tags in the mail. Make sure to attach the luggage tags to your checked bags, as they are needed to deliver your luggage directly to your stateroom.
I always bring a small carry-on bag to keep with me. I usually include medications, swimsuits, sunscreen, and our evening clothes (if we want to wear different clothes for dinner). My kids often want to jump in the pool as soon as possible!
Did you know that you can book
ground transportation from the San Diego International Airport to the port? After landing at the airport, pick up your luggage from the baggage claim. A Disney Cruise Line representative will be available outside the baggage claim area to direct you to your designated transportation. Ground transfers are also available for Guests who book hotel stays through Disney Cruise Line before (or after) their cruise. Using Disney ground transportation is super simple, and it is one less thing I have to worry about when traveling! You can book ground transfers by
calling Disney Cruise Line.
Jan, enjoy your magical cruise! We hope to see you real soon!
Happy sailing!
Jen
