Ahoy there, Kristy!
Welcome aboard planDisney! Kicking off the new year on a Disney cruise is a fantastic way to start 2028, so let’s jump right in and make sure your luggage is ready for its own grand adventure!
When it comes to luggage allowances, there really isn’t a restriction when it comes to the weight of your luggage. However, the
Booking Terms and Conditions does state that each Guest can bring aboard a reasonable amount of luggage, not to exceed two bags per Guest. This limit does not include any carry-on items you may be bringing along with you.
You should receive
luggage tags for your sailing prior to embarkation day, but don’t stress if they don’t arrive. The friendly porters at the cruise terminal will have blank tags and can help you out. They’ve seen just about every luggage situation imaginable, so there’s no need to channel your inner Minnie Mouse trying to make everything work perfectly before you even reach the terminal!
Now, while there may not be a weight limit, there is one thing I always like to remind Guests about: your stateroom doesn’t have unlimited storage space. Depending on how many Guests are in your party and your chosen stateroom, those bags can start multiplying faster than Mickey ears in a souvenir shop. If you have four Guests in a stateroom and each one brings two full-sized suitcases, that under-the-bed storage area is going to fill up quickly, and you don’t want to use your valuable closet space to store luggage. A little strategic packing can go a long way toward keeping your stateroom comfortable once everything is unpacked.
When it comes to what you can’t bring, the
Prohibited and Restricted Items page is your best friend. Some of the popular items first-time Guests may not realize are prohibited include surge protectors, extension cords, perishable or homemade foods, and certain
alcoholic beverages. I recommend giving the list a quick look before you start packing. It’s much better to discover at home that something needs to stay behind than to have your suitcase experience its own Toy Story separation scene at the port!
I hope this helps you figure out what can come aboard and, just as importantly, what should stay home. A little luggage planning now means more room in your suitcase for the souvenirs, pirate treasures, and other things you’ll inevitably decide absolutely need to come home with you!
Sea ya real soon as summer waves goodbye and autumn magic begins to shine,
Dustin
