Another? I have been lucky to receive a compimentary stay & park tix for 5 days. However I am not able to pay for dining plan b/c I'm not purchasing a pkg. Could I pay for 1 park tix and then purchase dining plan?

    Hi Debbie!

I'm not familiar with exactly what you have, so I'll answer in general terms.  Many guests can get discount tickets to Walt Disney World; for example, military personnel can usually get tickets on base that will save them money.  Thus many guests will want a "room only" reservation at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.  However, in order to get the Dining Plan, you have to have a vacation package, which includes the room and a Magic Your Way ticket.  Most people with tickets from somewhere else get around this by purchasing a 1 Day Magic Your Way ticket; thus officially they will have a package and can purchase the Dining Plan for the entire stay.

You would have to do the math to make sure this makes the most sense for your trip.  You would have to factor in the extra cost of the 1 Day Magic Your Way ticket for each member of your party.  Then you should compare the cost of the Dining Plan to just paying for meals out of pocket.  The best way to do that is to look at the independent website AllEars.Net.  The All Ears team does a great job keeping their menus up to date.  You can look at the menu for various Quick Service and Table Service restaurants and compare the costs to the Dining Plan.  By the way, you can get more information on the various Dining Plans here.

Enjoy planning and write back if you have any more questions!
