Bright Suns, Alana! (That’s a common greeting you’ll hear from the
locals on Batuu in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.) Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for stopping by with your questions.
I’m thrilled to hear that you’ve been able to make an appointment for yourself and your daughter at
Savi’s Workshop. I was able to visit the workshop last week, and I found the process completely amazing – I had goosebumps as I felt the Force flowing during the building experience. I’m so excited for your family to experience it together!
Savi’s Workshop is a small location – it has to be, so it can stay unnoticed by the First Order, who are patrolling Black Spire Outpost looking for members of the resistance. Builders are permitted to bring one Guest – so, in your situation, you would build alone and your daughter would be the second builder, with your husband as her Guest. I don’t think it would be a problem if they were to switch places if she’s not interested in building. He would stand at the building station, and she would be just behind or even beside him. If she decides she doesn’t want to build, just let one of the Gatherers know that he will take her place.
As for assistance, the Gatherers will help with each step of the building process, but it’s likely fine for your husband to help as she chooses the different components of her lightsaber. There are some parts of the process, though, that can only be done by one person – for example, the moment of activating the lightsaber is really special, and it takes the Builder’s ability to tap into the Force to make it happen.
I hope this helps, Alana! If you have any more questions as you count down to your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, please come back and see us, and be sure to read the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest news and updates.
Autumn is a spook-tacular time for a Disney visit, and whether you’re on the planet Batuu,
celebrating Halloween with Mickey and his pals, or having other enchanted adventures, I hope your family makes so many magical memories together on your upcoming vacation.
‘Til the Spire, and may the Force be with you,
Robyn
