Loving this site, great job everyone!! Can you advise as to tipping standards for the housekeeping staff? Its been a few years since have travelled to the US and I am not sure what the going rate is anymore? THANKS!!!

Generally, we tip housekeeping (or Mousekeeping) $1 per person each day. You should leave it in a marked envelope. While tipping housekeeping is customary, it is not expected at Walt Disney World.

I would also advise that if you call for extra items such as more pillows, that you tip $1for each request.

If you are staying at a resort with turndown service, it is also suggested to leave a tip prior to going out to dinner.

Of course tipping should be done based on the level of service you have received. If your room was not serviced to your liking, then tip accordingly. Likewise, if you come back to a room full of towel animals, kids stuffed animals posed all around the room, and your dirty clothes left in a neat pile, you may want to tip a little extra the next day.

Leave your tips in a clearly marked envelope. I like to print out envelopes using the cute designs at the mouseforless.com website.

Have a safe journey to the States!
