Hi Nancy! I am also a grandmother and I have loved introducing our love of Disney to them when they were very young. The memories of watching them interact with characters or seeing something for the first time is priceless.
Young children seem to have unending energy so first I would make sure you have a stroller available for you to use for your granddaughter during park days. You can
Rent strollers at each of the parks at the entrance making this very convenient and easy. They have a length of stay rental fee too. These strollers can not be taken back to the resort.
There are two thoughts for getting assistance during the park days. Both will cost extra money so it will depend on your budget for the trip. The first thought is to book a
VIP Guide for a day at the parks. There is a minimum of hours and you will have a guide who will take you wherever you need to go and in the FastPass lines of all attractions. We love having a day with a VIP guide during our family trips but it is a pricey option. Please note that the guide is not a baby sitter. They are simply guides but most that I have had will certainly do what they can to entertain the younger children. They will assist you if you need to buy water or snacks and they will do the leg work for you. That might be all you need to get some extra rest.
Another option is to hire a sitter from the
Kids Nite Out sitting service. They normally will do in room sitting at the resorts but you can also hire one to assist you and accompany you in the parks for a day. Please know that you will need to purchase a park ticket for the sitter as well as pay for the days sitting service so again this can be costly.
