Hi Melanie! Welcome back to planDisney.
My family also loves to grab a treat and stroll
Disney’s BoardWalk in the evening. That setting is just gorgeous, and we really feel transported as we take in the sights, people watch, and enjoy some yummy vacation food. Wandering the Walt Disney World Resort with a snack and my favorite people – does it get any better than that?
It does look like the
Funnel Cake Cart on Disney’s BoardWalk is currently unavailable. I recommend keeping an eye on the cart’s web page, as the
Walt Disney World Resort’s phased reopening is underway, and you never know when something is going to reopen. I’m sending some powdered sugar pixie dust that you get your wish and your tradition can continue!
Outside of the theme parks, there don’t appear to be stands or restaurants offering funnel cakes at this time. The closest thing I can think of are the Bubble Waffles at
AristoCrêpes in Disney Springs. These warm, crispy crêpes come in salted caramel and strawberry flavors – I think the strawberry one comes close to a funnel cake in its flavor profile.
If you’re looking for a different sweet treat on Disney’s BoardWalk, I recommend the
BoardWalk Bakery. They have standard Disney sweets like cupcakes, but there are usually unique, freshly baked items available too – there’s a brioche Boston cream donut on the menu right now that sounds delicious! Pair that sweet treat with a cup of specialty coffee and I’m a happy, happy girl.
Finally, I know you didn’t ask for funnel cakes in the theme parks, but I have to mention one to try during your visit. During the
Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, there is a specialty mini funnel cake available at
Funnel Cake in the American Adventure Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase. It’s topped with lemon cheesecake ice cream, blueberries, and powdered sugar. Drool! They also have standard funnel cake options available at this location.
Well, my sweet tooth is ready to pack her bags and head down to Mickey’s house, Melanie! Here’s hoping all your funnel cake dreams come true during your visit. As you count down the days, be sure to read the
Disney Parks Blog to see what new treats and fun news they share – I like to keep a running list as I prepare for my visit so I know just what I need to order when I’m in the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. Have a delicious time!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
