Hi Jonna,
I love to hear about kids who are open to food adventures! And there are so many new options at Walt Disney World in the past year or so, especially at Disney Springs.
Some of my family's favorites among the recent additions at Disney Springs include
Morimoto Asia and its quick service outlet, Morimoto Asia Street Food. There's a great variety of noodle dishes along with sushi and Asian entrees, including a yummy Peking duck.
We also have made multiple visits to
Chef Art Smith's Homecoming and
Frontera Cocina. Paddlefish and the newly renovated Planet Hollywood just opened so I haven't had time to try those. You'll also find a number of new quick service spots at Disney Springs. D-luxe Burgers and Blaze Pizza are our faves.
At Magic Kingdom, you may want to check out
Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen, which has both a fun menu and a fun atmosphere. At Animal Kingdom, there's the upscale
Tiffins or the Harambe Market food court area. My family is a fan of both experiences.
If your son truly is interested in being adventurous, you might consider helping him order an interesting appetizer for his meal instead of a kids meal. That's always what my daughters did when they were beginning to stretch their culinary tastes.
I'm limited on space, Jonna, so please check back if you need more details on any of these new food venues. We're happy to help. Happy eating!
Wilma
