Love this space! I've seen earlier questions about the timing for the 2009 Christmas Day Parade taping, but have dates been set now? And how does it impact MK? I have 2 kids that love the Disney shows/stars, but not sure if worth fighting large crowds.

    Hi Jennifer,

This is a great question!  The dates for the taping are not typically "officially" released to the public.  I will say that it's more than likely that the filming will take place over a few days which has historically happened either at the very end of November or beginning of December.  If you visit any Disney "fan" websites, they usually start buzzing with excitement in November about the anticipated filming dates and stars that may perform.

Since the actual taping can happen over the course of several days, in several different locations within the Magic Kingdom there is the potential for significant impact to guests visiting during that time.  Not necessarily in wait times for attractions, but more so in crowd levels and traffic flow patterns throughout the park.  Guest traffic will be rerouted as necessary to facilitate the taping, so your touring plans may be forced a little "off track" on those days.

If I were visiting during that time, I don't think I would change my plans to avoid the Magic Kingdom...but I wouldn't want to plan my vacation around "hoping" to see the taping of the parade.

    Hope this helps!
