Love this site!We are having a family trip of 11 (5 kids) coming up in summer of 2014.I know it's early to be thinking about plans, but I'm excited! How far in advance can you book a villa?Other tips for a large group? How do you do dinining with so many?

    Hi, Jen!

It is a lot of fun planning for an upcoming trip, and with so many in your party I can understand you are excited!   Rooms can be booked up to 499 days in advance, although pricing might not be available.  You can, however, still lock in your resort of choice.   If you wait until around mid-summer of 2013, the prices for 2014 will be posted and you can know your exact cost when booking.

For your dining reservations, call a friendly Disney Dining Reservationist  at (407)WDW-DINE who will be happy to help get your times and locations secured.  Please know that with a party of your size, you may be split into two tables.  I never mind this since with a party that big, you cannot possibly talk to your cousin at the opposite end of the table!  When we travel in a large party and (if) our party is split into 2 tables, we have fun table hopping and sneaking a bite of each other's dessert (shhh, don't tell!)

The best advice I can give you for traveling with a large group is to be flexible.  I often travel with my extended family (10 of us!) and we usually do a few attractions together to start our day, then plan to meet back at the resort for an afternoon swim or simply meet at one special meal each day.  There is so much to see and do at Walt Disney World, and sometimes it is just easier for small groups to break apart then plan a meeting/gathering time.  Keeps everyone happy!

Keep me posted as you get further into your plans, and let me know if I can help with any of your planning.
