LOVE your site! We will be taking our 8 y/o dd for her 1st trip to DW 12/8-12/16/12...staying at AOA-so excited! We have 4 days to spend in the parks. We are thinking she may enjoy a 2nd day at MK instead of going to EPCOT...would love your opinion! TY

    Hi Dawn!

In general, I think that is true . Most children would rather spend two days in the Magic Kingdom period.  However, I can tell you that when my youngest son was 6 (he's now 8), him and I spent a whole day together at Walt Disney World while my wife and oldest son went to Blizzard Beach.  My youngest son and I planned to spend the whole day in the Magic Kingdom, but around mid-morning, he said he definitely wanted to go to Epcot!  His favorite attractions in Epcot are Soarin', the Seas with Nemo and Friends, and Turtle Talk with Crush.  After we did those attractions, he wanted to head back to the Magic Kingdom for the rest of the day.  So it's not black and white.

If you have never been to Epcot, then I would not skip it.  It is the favorite park of a lot of adults.  It is my wife's favorite park and my oldest son's favorite park.  Instead, you might move Epcot to the first part of your trip and then, if necessary, hop over to the Magic Kingdom later in the day.  Then you would still have another whole day to spend in the Magic Kingdom.  You do not have to purchase the Park Hopper option ahead of time; you could wait until you are at Walt Disney World and trying to visit a second theme park on the same day and then purchase them.

This is a hard question.  Good luck with your decision, and please write back with more questions!
