Love this site. We will be driving to WDW, staying in All Star Movies during the month of June. We want to be at the parks at opening--which would be best, taking the shuttle from the resort or driving ourselves to each park? THANKS!!!

    Hi Lori!

Great question! I would drive to Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios. For Magic Kingdom, I would use Disney transportation.

Since you'll be starting the day early, you'll find relatively good parking at the parks I mentioned I would drive to, and you'll save on the time it takes to wait for the buses. However, Magic Kingdom has it's parking lot separate from the theme park, so you'll have to park your vehicle at the Ticket and Transportation Center, then make your way to the T&TC loading area to catch either a ferry or monorail to the theme park. You might find yourself waiting in either case, but at least the Disney bus will pick you up in front of the resort and drop you off at the Magic Kingdom entrance. My only exception would be if you have small children in your group, for the sake of convenience. As a Mom of little ones, I would rather be on my own schedule, mostly. So depending on what we have in mind for the day (perhaps park hopping or plans to break mid day at the resort), we may take Disney transportation or drive our car from the Value resort to Magic Kingdom. Hope this helps!

     Have a magical vacation!
