I love to run and some day want to run one or several of the disney marathons. Is there any where that I can purchase women's disney running wear. I looked last time I was there and couldn't find anything for women. Do you have to run to get the shirt?

    Michele:

It sounds like you and I have something in common: the running bug!  In the past 18 months, I've run Disney's Expedition Everest 5K, the Princess Half-Marathon and the inaugural Wine & Dine Half-Marathon last month not to mention 5 other non-Disney races.  And like you, I've been searching for some cute duds in which to run.

You're right that women's Disney running wear is difficult to find.  In fact, by the time I found some training duds for the Princess Half-Marathon from Lady Foot Locker on the disney site last year, everything was sold out!! This year, I didn't see Disney offering anything. Even Downtown Disney's TrendD and nearby sports store has plenty of tennis wear, but nothing appropriate for running.

One of the best places to buy Disney running wear is at the Expo the day before a Disney race. In fact, I bought my outfit for the Wine & Dine at the Expo at the Wide World of Sports Complex the day I picked up my race packet!  I'd searched for a good-looking running skort for months and was thrilled to find something my size.  (Although I run, I am not a '2'!)  You get the race shirt when you register so, technically, you don't have to run the race to get your shirt.  Some folks will wear their race shirts, too, on the course.

If you're at Disney during one of its races, stop by the Expo. You don't have to pay to get in or be registered for the race. And if you have any questions about the races at Disney, feel free to come visit me via my bio page!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
